On 17 November 2026, researchers, educators, students, professionals, societal organisations and external partners will come together for the third edition of TU/e Sustainability Day.
Building on the success of previous editions, Sustainability Day 2026 offers a day to learn, get inspired, exchange ideas and explore opportunities for collaboration. Whether you are taking your first steps in sustainability or have been working on these challenges for years, the event provides new insights, practical inspiration and valuable connections.
As a university of technology, TU/e has both the opportunity and the responsibility to help shape a more sustainable future. But sustainability challenges cannot be solved by one discipline, sector or organisation alone.
This shared ambition forms the basis of the partnership between Sustainability Day and the EWUU institute for a Circular Society (i4CS).

The Key to a Sustainable, Circular Future: Unusual Collaborations
A hands-on workshop on unusual collaboration for a sustainable, circular future.
Everyone wants a more sustainable and circular future. The question is: why is it so hard to get there?
It is rarely because we lack ideas. More often, the people who hold different pieces of the solution struggle to connect. Researchers, entrepreneurs, policymakers, students and citizens may speak different professional languages, work towards different goals and approach the same challenge from different perspectives.
But what if those differences are not the problem? What if they are the key to better solutions?
In this interactive workshop, you will experience how unusual collaborations can unlock new ways of thinking and working. Using a hands-on method, you will explore how to:
- bridge different perspectives;
- build shared understanding;
- connect ideas across disciplines and sectors;
- turn diverse contributions into collective action.
Whether you are a student, researcher, entrepreneur, policymaker or simply someone who wants to make a difference, the workshop will offer practical insights into how collaboration can turn ambitious ideas into meaningful impact.
At i4CS, we believe that lasting change starts by connecting people, disciplines and ideas. Because it does not begin with having all the answers, it begins with bringing the right people together and asking better questions.
Meet i4CS at the poster market
i4CS will also be present at the Sustainability Day poster market.
