On November 5th 2025, the EWUU Institute 4 a Circular Society (i4CS) hosted a 90-minute interactive workshop that placed societal challenges at the heart of research.
Using the real-life case of Voedselbank Eindhoven and Emmaus Eindhoven, participants explored how these organizations can continue their vital work as new environmental regulations will soon ban diesel trucks from the city center.
Bringing together researchers, students and practitioners from multiple disciplines, the session moved beyond logistics to examine systemic, circular, and structural opportunities. Through lively discussion and co-creation, the group explored the challenge from diverse perspectives, uncovering knowledge gaps and reframing the challenge.
We were happy to hear that insights generated will inform concrete next steps for De Voedselbank and Emmaus, including talks with Gemeente Eindhoven!
A warm thank you to Niek Rennenberg (Ouderen Appèl Eindhoven), Nina Lieffering (Brainport voor Elkaar), and Luuk van Wingerden (Emmaus Eindhoven) for sharing their case and valuable contributions and perspectives during the session!
